In accordance with the wishes of the Vasquez-Margolin family, Marin FC has established a “Living for the Game” scholarship fund in honor of Eloi Vasquez, a gifted soccer player and committed student, son, brother and teammate. Eloi honored the game both on and off the field with integrity and passion. His contributions to the community and the impact he had on so many will not be forgotten.
This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a student-athlete who embodies Eloi’s dedication to family, mentorship abilities, strength of character, commitment to personal growth and academics, ability to inspire teammates, and passion for the game. The fund will honor Eloi’s life and accomplishments, and help future players continue his legacy of excellence.
Our objective is to establish a sustainable endowed fund that will honor Eloi’s legacy in perpetuity. With that in mind, our goal is to raise $125,000, which would allow the scholarship to fully sponsor one player annually. The actual dollar value of the scholarship will depend on the funds available in the account at that time. If additional funds are available, a second scholarship will be created.
The scholarship beneficiary must be a Marin FC financial aid recipient. A separate application process will be required to determine player eligibility. Applications of the 2018 Living For the Game scholarship will be available May 1, 2018 and the winner will be announced before the race on June 9, 2018.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
